Enabled Update from Roland Stone

Two Souls were saved at Enabled ministries tonight [Friday, February 17]!The ministry down town is picking up, and our relationship with our neighboring ministries is growing rapidly. Before we had our group meeting tonight Glen, James, and I went to a church service at the Hope House where I was blessed enough to preach a message on 1 Corinthians 15:33. Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. I am so tankful God saved a sinner like me, and He is now allowing me to work with the less fortunate on a regular schedule. I pray every day for a complete turn around in our down town Middletown area.

First Friday of the New Year Update

First Friday of the New Year Update

by: Roland Stone

Enabled Ministries went smoothly.  ”For none of us liveth to himself, and no man diet to himself.”  The chapter is talking about not judging our brother in Christ.  We may have brothers in Christ who are weaker in faith, but we are not the judge of them.

I feel that we had a real impact on the downtown Middletown area tonight.  Three people accepted Jesus as their Savior tonight!  Our building was full.  If someone left hungry, I cannot see how.  The Gospel was clearly presented; plus, I took home twenty left over hot dogs…Yum!

Our team of rescue soldiers for Enabled Ministries worked well with one another.  Ultimately, God gets all of the glory.  Please pray for all the lost souls within our reach.

Thanks, church!

Roland Stone

December 30th Enabled Meeting: One Saved!

In my absence, Roland took upon himself a greater role at the HOPE meeting @ Enabled Ministries this last Friday.  Bro. Ed Clifford was able to assist, and Bro. Clifford sent me the following update and pictures:

“Bro. Max, Friday night Enabled Ministry was wonderful. Bro. Roland had everything under control. Counting clients and servants, there were fifty one people there. There were testimonies, prayer requests, and adevotion. The ladies had their hands full with all the children. I think there were thirteen children. Bro. Battig brought the message, one soul was saved, praise the Lord!! Fellowship was great and there was plenty of good food. The format that was developed for Friday night was followed. It was a good time in the Lord. He was praised, and given honor by many tonight. Praise His Holy Name!!”

Also, a special thank you to Bro. and Sister Spradling for stepping in this past Friday and Bro. Andy Lake for last Friday!

Great Update from Roland!

Christmas Eve is hear. Thank you, Jesus Christ for coming to live only to die for me. Enable Ministries went great last night. First of all, we did have two accept our Lord as Savior. Amen! Hallelujah!

Five people did raise there hand to Tommy Depew’s devotion wanting to trust in Jesus as there Savior. The ministry had a total of 47 people sign in. Out of these 17 people were our regular enrollees and 7 were our new guest.

Glen and I started walking Central Avenue at 6pm and had to get back by 6:30. By this time people were lined up outside to get in.

The kids were great last night. We did help a few families out with gifts to put under their trees. At closing time there were still lots of toys left over, so we gave all the kids who were there a gift and wished them a merry Christmas. Thanks for the prayers and everyones help. Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS.

                                              Your friend,Roland Stone

HOPE UPDATE: First Service

HOPE INTERNATIONAL ADDICTION PROGRAM
ENABLED MINISTRY
BIBLE TRUTH #1   O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not man that walketh to direct his steps.  JEREMIAH 10:23.

God just keeps blessing us as we see new faces in the program. Friday we had two new visitors and 1 accepted the Lord as their Savior.

Now Let’s talk about SUNDAY SERVICE at the Enabled building. Ready for this, 73 for the service.  What a blessing and GOD just keeps on keeping on!!  Our first service was very successful.  Plenty of Gospel singing and sermon on “Are the seeds yet in the barn?”  How are we witnessing and spreading the word of God? Are we nourishing the young seedlings by discipleship.   And how many lost souls are we leaving behind? Teaching them the truth! Thanks to the Bible students for their leadership.

Ivor Roberts and Mrs. Della Brads and Zola Fisk provided a fantastic dinner.  Lots of donated cakes and pies…what a dinner!

Enabled HOPE – March Summary – WHAT A BLESSING!

HOPE INTERNATIONAL ADDICTION PROGRAM

ENABLED MINISTRY-GRACE BAPTIST

MARCH MADNESS ???!!!

I believe we can justify that by saying we had a great March:  We mean that we were able:

  • To feed 164 addicts
  • Six individuals were saved
  • Eight recommitted their lives back to Christ
  • Four addicts have read the first two books out of the challenge books
  • Forty addicts have now completed the “Beating the Odds” booklet in the first requirement of the series.

Our biggest night was 48 people and the lowest was 36.  Our counselors are working very hard in just keeping up with their fast pace.  They are so hungry to hear and read the Word of God!  Upstairs and downstairs are just chattering in scripture reading and repeating the memorization studies.

In, amongst all that, you hear Jim Battigs chanting like a drill sergeant leading them from one memorization verse to the next.  Upstairs is just alike as the woman have 6 groups all studying the scripture verses and memorization studies.

Kim Richardson, is also very busy as with the help of Susan Caupp and Donna Henry.  They are busy counseling the addict ladies.  We have several heroin addicts, meth addicts, two sex addicts including prostitution.  They are very busy!  But they are overcoming their addictions by replacing temptation with the Word of God.

Katherine Battig, Cassie Michael, Patsy Stugmyer are doing a great job teaching the Bible verses and leading them into a productive life.  Among the men we have Boyd Caupp, Jim Henry and Jim Taube doing the same by maintaining each addict in keeping up with the group. There have been several drift away from the group and we pray they return soon.  We certainly need them.

Friday we also worked with them on personal hygiene, especially bed bugs, fleas, roaches and the three different types of body lice.  Joyce and I spent time at the Middletown-Butler County Health Department and they trained us briefly and gave us pamphlets and reading material on prevention and medical cures.  Kim and I have spent 15 hours working with 12 different addicts in counseling them personal hygiene.

Our goal is to offer them God; teach them about Jesus; and help them adjust back into society as Christians.  We have seen three come to our Grace Baptist services.  Please join us and especially pray for our ministry and our group.

Director Mike Williams

She Got Saved!

Hope International Enabled Ministry

” Who have you invited in to your house and fed lately?”

Mark 2:16-17… And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?
When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Friday was another exciting night at Hope.  A packed house with another new student, Sara.  Sara has come a long way fighting drug addiction.  She is working extremely hard in raising her 6 children.  Unfortunately 5 are in foster care, 1 with an ex-husband, and she is expecting another child.  It’s been 6 months since she has taken any drugs, and has enrolled in a drug rehabilitation program and taking college classes to get a degree.  Our high school blitz team came to her house and left her some information on our Enabled Ministry program and about Grace Baptist church.  She read the material and made a call to the church.  Marty gave her our phone number and we made the call and she agreed to come to the ministry Friday evening.

She was in for a real surprise as Pastor Max was there that evening to help out. When we went through prayer requests and testimonies she said, “I’m not saved, I don’t have Jesus in my heart”.  ”I asked her if she would like to settle that tonight?”  Bro Max and Cassie (counselor) took her back into a counseling room and presented her with SAVING GRACE.  She accepted Jesus into her heart.  That is what we do at Hope: bring them, teach them, feed them scripture verses and offer them Jesus.

The program works.  We could use extra help as our student base is expanding.
We now are having difficulty in getting them in and taking them home. That is a great problem to have!

Friday Night Update

Friday night was a very emotional evening. We had three new people join the group.  It’s exciting to see the room fill with many challenges among the crowd.  If you desire an evening with changing circumstances you would enjoy HOPE.  Not every one is capable of handling the many challenges we face at the addiction program. Many of these students have very serious problems and represent touch and go situations.  One was at the center Friday night.

A young girl about the age of 18-19 came to the center.  She was polite and quiet.  When we got to the prayer request time she opened up to us in tears about her problems.  She is a victim of child abuse, as well as many other challenges; some were very serious.  I believe this was one of the most difficult sessions I have had at HOPE since we started in January.  It left us totally and mentally exhausted. Not since my college days at Lima Mental Hospital, working in the criminally insane department, have I been this challenged. Believe me I had to really think and remember the correct procedures in dealing with her. STOP there! See the HOLY SCRIPTURES win every time.  WE pointed to JESUS!  He is truly OUR Lord and Savior.

Please continue to pray for our Enabled Ministry…HOPE!

Enabled H.O.P.E. Update – 07.01.2010

July 1, 2010…Summer time!!!

A lot is happening at the center…Food Pantry is taking a sabbatical for the month of July.  The first Ladies Bible study has come and gone for the month until the end of July.  Tutoring program is ready to open up again, and HOPE is still open every Friday as addictions do not take a time off.

We added another addict to the program but unfortunately we are loosing several counselors for the summer.  Last Friday we had just enough counselors to meet the one-on-one addict per counselor.

We gave certificates to two of addicts for 5 weeks of sobriety.  Several other success reports include: Hamilton-Butler County Courts recognizing the HOPE addiction program and Middletown Courts recognizing program by offering pay settlements for the addict community commitments.

Our goal is to help the addict to be set free from all entanglements.  To be better Christians and be a part of the community they live.  God Bless the faithfulness of the HOPE workers.
