Encouraging Update Meeting with Mike Williams

Well, the Lord allowed Bro. Mike Williams and I to sit down today for a very good meeting.  As most of you know, we have been diligently praying about Bro. Mike’s health.  Joyce (Mike’s wife) has been working to keep Bro. Mike down (in a good way) so that he can actively better manage his health.

Bro. Mike is progressing well, and he is still excited about the prospects of returning to HOPE as the director.  The time frame is not clear yet.  For the interim, the LORD has allowed me [Max Fernandez] to help coordinate and lead the HOPE addictions ministry.

Our goals in the short term are to build unity amongst the Enabled leadership, work together to minister to those enrolled in the ministry, and develop the leadership through coaching and delegation of various responsibilities.  For this to be a success, pray for all of those involved.  We need God’s help.  We had a great start on Friday, and we look forward to a good day this coming Friday.  You can read an update at: http://max.gbcblogs.com/2011/06/enabled-ministry-fresh-restart/.

The future of the ministry is as bright as the hope we have in our living Savior.

HOPE Update – Mike Williams

HOPE INTERNATIONAL  ADDICTION PROGRAM

The single most asked question I get from people and members of our church who ask, “How can I help the ones I love who does not see the need of help?”  Often the only response I can offer, “ You cannot help those that do not want the help, if you do you will be the one that ends up needing help.”

And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who was seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.  And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean.  And immediately the leprosy departed from him.

Luke 5:12-13.

We at HOPE cannot promise anything but offer them Jesus.  Jesus is the Truth and He can remove the habits and temptations of sinful temptations.

Pray for us as we prepare our minds to offer the addicts the clear scripture verses of pure truth.  The Word of God can set them free.
